The event, organized by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga with the support of international organizations and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), gathered policymakers, scholars, and NGOs from across Europe to discuss strategies for integrating displaced Ukrainians into educational systems.

Key speakers included:
✅ Kristine Nidre-Later, Deputy State Secretary for General Education and State Language Policy at the Ministry of Education and Science (Latvia).
✅ Sigridur Vilhjalmdsdottir, Head of the Department of Education at Oslo Metropolitan University (Norway).
✅ Victoria Prytulaka, Founder and Director of the Center for Ukrainian Studies in Latvia.

During the second panel discussion, participants examined the challenges faced by young Ukrainians pursuing higher education in the Baltic States, as well as potential support mechanisms and preferential conditions for Ukrainian refugees.

The conference was part of the "Network for Ukrainian Displaced Persons Integration"—a newly launched initiative by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, supported by the Bosch Foundation. This project aims to create a collaborative platform that unites businesses, policymakers, academics, and organizations to foster the smooth integration of displaced Ukrainians across the Baltic region and beyond.

Olena’s participation underscores DNU’s active engagement in global discussions on education, refugee integration, and cross-border academic cooperation, further solidifying the university's role as a key advocate for Ukrainian students and scholars on the international stage.
