Dzhankoi National University Faculty Members Participate in Wiley Analytical Science Conference

12.04.2023

Faculty members from the Faculties of Engineering and Transport and Civil Engineering at Dzhankoi National University recently participated in the fifth virtual conference of Wiley Analytical Science (WAS). The event served as a platform for researchers and industry professionals to discuss cutting-edge advancements in scientific research and industrial applications.

Throughout the conference, participants explored innovative methodologies and breakthroughs in microscopy, life sciences, laboratory automation, pharmaceuticals, food science, spectroscopy, and more. A particular focus was placed on the latest technological advancements in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), which are helping laboratories reduce downtime and increase productivity.

During the first webinar, speakers addressed the ongoing helium shortages and their impact on laboratory operations. Experts showcased smart mega-methods in High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS) for pesticide analysis and presented the advanced "Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer 6475," capable of screening up to 500 pesticides with remarkable precision. Discussions also covered system detection capabilities, optimal instrument configurations, and the role of intelligent instrument features in method development and performance stability.

Another highlight of the conference was the presentation of the SmartVane rotary vane vacuum pump, developed by Pfeiffer Vacuum. This innovative, hermetically sealed pump is designed to eliminate oil leakage and contamination, making it an ideal forevacuum pump for mass spectrometry applications in environmental analysis, pharmaceutical research, and clinical analytics. Experts emphasized the pump's benefits, including reduced noise, lower power consumption, and minimal pollution—key factors for modern laboratories seeking sustainable solutions.
